Industry focus
I leverage my technical and legal experience to provide exceptional legal services aimed at protecting your intellectual property rights in high-tech industries.
How I represent clients at Schwabe
At Schwabe, I focus on intellectual property matters in a variety of areas, such as semiconductors, electronics, renewable energy, and technologies related to space exploration. I have extensive experience with preparing and prosecuting both domestic and foreign patent applications, patent portfolio management, and patent-based litigation support. I have also worked with companies of all sizes, from start-ups to Fortune 100 corporations.
My degree in materials engineering has equipped me with deep technical knowledge of many kinds of technology. My understanding of the electrical behavior of materials has prepared me to discuss complex inventions, from those that relate to semiconductor devices and fabrication processes, semiconductor processing equipment, and electronics packaging, to display systems, integrated circuitry, LED devices, and other electrical technologies. With respect to my IP work for green hydrogen generation, I have experience with electrolyzers and fuel cells which may produce hydrogen and use hydrogen to produce electricity, respectively. I have written patent applications for solar panels and wave energy systems that can be used to provide green electricity to run electrolyzers for hydrogen generation.
Before joining Schwabe, I worked in a leading patent prosecution boutique in Silicon Valley. I also gained hands-on experience as a patent agent while earning my law degree from Santa Clara University School of Law. I’m passionate about technology innovation and the multitude of opportunities to use new technology that can deliver sustainable power to our world.
Experience
Semiconductors Patents
- Non-planar transistor design and manufacturing processes.
- Integrated packaging solutions for multi-die packages to enable enhanced scaling that is necessary for the most advanced computing systems, such as machine learning and artificial intelligence applications.
- Semiconductor processing chambers with plasma systems tailored to provide necessary uniformity across the wafer that enables high-efficiency production of transistors at the smallest nodes.
- Integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning into semiconductor processing tools to maintain wafer-to-wafer uniformity, lot-to-lot uniformity, and improved up-time for chambers.
Renewable Energy Patents
- Systems for converting wave energy into electricity.
- Systems and processes for efficiently storing and retrieving green hydrogen.
- Tooling for solar panel manufacturing and processing.
- Solar panel housings and assemblies designed to improve solar efficiency.
