Schwabe's very own Michael Herbst serves as the current President of the Canada-America Society of Washington. On October 9, 2009, the organization hosted British Columbia Premier Gordon Campbell and Washington State Governor Chris Gregoire at its gala dinner, an annual celebration of the commercial and cultural ties between Canada and the United States in the Northwest. In addition to Gov. Gregoire and Premier Campbell, other government dignitaries and regional business leaders were in attendance.
Other Schwabe attorneys who were there included Al AuYeung, Chris Howard, Bert Markovich, Brad Maier, Joaquin Hernandez, Fraser Mendel, and Farjam Majd. In all, several hundred people attended the event and it was a wonderful success. Congratulations on hosting a great gala, Michael, and thanks for helping to maintain a strong relationship with our friends and neighbors to the north.
