Schwabe's Stephen Bush Appointed to CARES Northwest Resource Board

This month, Stephen Bush, an associate in the Portland office of the regional law firm Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, was appointed to the resource board of CARES Northwest.

CARES is a wonderful organization and I am confident that Steve will serve it well in his new role," said Mark Long, managing partner at Schwabe.  "Steve's extensive health care experience and overall passion for the field is a natural fit for CARES Northwest."

Bush focuses his practice on business and corporate law, health care, renewable energy projects and assisting Oregon wineries and vineyards with licensing, regulatory matters and transactions.  In his health care practice, Bush advises physician groups and allied health providers in: corporate and regulatory matters including fraud and abuse; financing; medical staffing issues; HIPAA; Stark and anti-kickback laws; antitrust; and transactions.

Bush is a member of the Oregon and California State Bars and is a fellow of the 2008 Oregon State Bar Leadership College.  He also is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association and the Antitrust, Health Law and Business Law Sections of the Oregon State Bar.  He graduated from the University of Southern California with a juris doctor degree.

CARES Northwest is a collaborative, community-based medical program for the assessment, treatment and prevention of child abuse. It provides a safe, child-friendly environment for the assessment of children for whom there are concerns of physical or sexual abuse, neglect and exposure to domestic violence. Physical examinations and interviews are conducted in a comfortable environment to help children feel safe.
