Professional Experience
Tom Dulcich is a fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers. Since joining Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt in 1980 after obtaining his law degree at the Law School at the University of Chicago, Mr. Dulcich has developed his practice in the areas of employment and securities litigation, defense of injury claims, and business litigation in many subject areas, including contracts, real estate, non-competition agreements, and trade secrets. In his representation involving financial institutions, Mr. Dulcich is one of the few attorneys in the region who has actually taken several lender liability cases through trial to a jury verdict. He has successfully tried several discrimination and harassment cases to verdict, as well as product liability and wrongful death cases. He has gone to trial in approximately 150 cases.

Representative Cases
Estate of Joel Crisp v. York International, et al., Spokane County Superior Court Case No. 02-2-02184-5. Defense verdict for HVAC manufacturer client York in a month-long jury trial in a wrongful death/product liability case, in which the plaintiffs' settlement demand never came below $7.0 million and in closing argument plaintiffs' counsel asked the jury for $14.2 million.

Kathleen Gray v. Morgan Stanley DW Inc., et al., King County Superior Court No. 02-2-26118-3SEA. Complete defense verdict in favor of Morgan Stanley after a four-week jury trial of an employment discrimination claim (gender) in which the plaintiff's settlement demand never came below $3.7 million.

In re Security Pacific Funding Securities Litigation Class Action, U.S. District Court of Oregon Case No. CV98-1239-MA, represented former president of Southern Pacific Funding in a class action shareholder litigation seeking $260 million, achieved settlement in seven figures.

In re Roman Catholic Archbishop of Portland in Oregon, U.S. Bankruptcy Court No. 04-37154-elp11, in representing the Catholic Archdiocese which covers the western half of Oregon, he was lead counsel in resolving over 300 tort claims over seven years, culminating in the first-ever filing of a successful Chapter 11 reorganization case for a Catholic bishop, in which all claims were resolved and ultimate claim finality was achieved without the sale of any properties or the closing of any of the 124 parishes and 51 schools within the Archdiocese of Portland.

Timothy Mockaitis and Francis George v. Harcleroad, 104 F3d 1522 (9th Cir 1997). Represented Catholic Archbishop Francis George and Fr. Timothy Mockaitis at trial and on appeal in a case in which the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals held that the surreptitious tape recording of a sacramental confession by a Catholic priest in Lane County Jail violated the First Amendment.

Shea, et al. v. Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company, 164 Or App 198, 990 P2d 912 (1999), resolved class action product liability case defending a domestic pneumatic tool manufacturer against class of plaintiffs. Also tried to verdict twice in U.S. District Court the case of Cleatis Mitchell, et al. v. Chicago Pneumatic Tool Company, U.S. District Court Case No. CV94-1230-RE, claims of 7 other plaintiffs making similar claims.

Susnjara and Rodriguez v. Catholic Community Services, U.S. District Court of Oregon No. 93-897-HA, defense verdict of age and ethnic discrimination claim.

Professional & Community Activities
Mr. Dulcich has been named among "The Best Lawyers in America" and is listed in Chambers USA.  He is a member of the Litigation and Debtor/Creditor sections of the Oregon and Washington State Bar Associations. He has authored a chapter in the OSB Continuing Legal Education publication on Bankruptcy, is a current author of the OSB publication on Federal Civil Litigation in Oregon, and has spoken at the Northwest Bankruptcy Institute and at OSB CLE seminars.  Mr. Dulcich has been a member of the Board of Trustees of the Columbia River Maritime Museum since 2002, and currently serves as Chairman of the Board.  He formerly served on the boards of The Blanchet House of Hospitality and the Classroom Law Project, as well as the Pastoral Council of Holy Family Parish.
